    'Sup, Fellow Kentuckians? Empty 'Sup, Fellow Kentuckians?

    Post  Arrakis Fri Nov 21, 2008 7:31 pm

    Hey, folks! I'm Arrakis.

    I went to undergrad in Nashville (Go Commodores!) and fought with Dur-Demarion for a year. I've since moved to the frozen north (Go Huskies!) to attend grad school, but I'm in the region on occasion, as I'm actually from London, KY. And since my girlfriend is from Memphis, I will probably be driving through Bowling Green at least four times on at least 3 separate days during winter break this year (Dec 17-Jan 12th or something like that...).

    So, if you guys are having any practices or anything during those times, try to let me know and I'll try to come by! Also, I'll be hitting up the Nashville practices for SURE at least twice during the break and I'll try to let you all know what days those will be and if I think the Nashville turn-out will be worth coming down for. In the summer, a good Sunday is 35 v. 35. In the winter, a good Sunday can be 10 v. 10. Of course, 10 of those people would be 4+ yr. vets and some 4 of them would be 10+ yr. vets...

    So, in closing, I highly recommend hitting Dur-D practices as often as humanly possible (1 or 2 till 5-ish PM Sundays in Elmington Park (see: http://durdemarion.com/contactus.htm )) and I also highly recommend getting on the Belegarth boards and perusing the garb, rules, foamsmithing and armory threads, if nothing else; lots of really great information on there. I'd avoid General Mayhem, if I were you, though; too much nonsense and drama and too much chance to make people who've never met you think you're a tool.

    Anyway, fight hard, die well!

    Holy crap! Hey! I'm guessing Unaki directed you here? We would be glad to have you. As far as our current practice schedual thing goes, if Unaki didnt already tell you, is we meet every Tuseday and Saturday at 3pm till whenever people leave. We fight in front of Zarcharius Hall on Westerns Campus. You should know though that now that the semester is ending this may be changing some soon. Now that we are officaly a club I might be able to talk to the people in our athletic center and hold practices in there. If that happens I'll let you know. If you come looking for us sometime but can't find us, feel free to call my cell at 270-799-6922 but be forwarned that my directions suck XD

    Thanks, Rayoe! I think... I think I may have met you, or at least seen you, at... perhaps Equinox 07? And maybe one or two Dur-D practices during that or the following year?

    yeah.
    i went to a practice in nashville a while back with sleeper, i had a terrible hangover and was still kinda drunk so i only used a single blue because holding two swords was making my balance go to shit and confusing me. heh o.o;

    that was fun.
