Apprenticeships

I think practices seem to be going well. But i hope the apprentice thing starts soon. I feel like ive hit a wall. I feel slower and like my shots arent as good as they were. I do practice at least 4 times a week with a heavier blue weapon so my shots get faster. but i still feel like im only getting worse.I thinbk its time people start doing the small group sessions with thier "master" . For people like myself who feel like they arent getting any better and even for new people this could be used to speed up the quality of our members and get people like me out of a slump.

Any comments??

i agree, i've already talked to someone about being their apprentice, and they agrred....(who is this?)

I feel your pain. I also have become stagnant and its making me worse.

The apprentceship thing was ment as a screening process to let people become elder members.

The best thing I can think of is get in contact with some random person in the group who's around your skill and meet somewhere and fight.

I think more one on ones at practice will help to fix this.

I suck horribly........ at this, but I know that this is something I want to do and will work hard at doing....

Find someone who will fight you one on one outside of field battles. Try to find someone who is close or alittle above your skill level and fight them over and over again untill you start to feel more comfortable with it.

Unless you mean there arent people around your skill level which is wrong (we have a few really crappy fighters) You should go ahead and start training with them though before they get better like Unaki did (compliment +1!)

I mean I wont have anyone to fight outside of practice time

The best way to train is to do it at events. Make a few friends on the official boards and see if they could take you under their wing for a bit in Beltaine. At Equinox, I learned a lot more than if I hadnt of gone. I was given advice by everyone I fought and one guy who really got me going was bo1. Hes awesome. His garb is awesome.



Edit: I could possibly do some out-of-practice fighting if we can meet up during the week, preferrably before or after work/school

Alternativly, you could grab someone during practice and take them somewheres away from the field battles and do one on ones the whole practice if they where ok with it.

I am going to try and come tomorrow. My dad said that once I wanted a weapon, he will order and buy it. I just want something that would be easier for me being a first timer.

Or you could probably grab Red/Zair or Matt (Not the furry lover) and have them teach you some things. THey arent new but you can learn some crazy things.

Have you ever used a shield? There really easly to learn (difficult to master though). Take a look at swords when you come tomarrow. I can try to give you a length comparason to the stuff you can find on edhellen if you want.

Zair was one of the people that first tried to help me when i was scared if you read my INFO PIECE ABOUT ME! lol.....They were the first group of people i ever started practicing with, they know i suck!

If you come to tuesday practices i wouldnt mind helping you.. as for not having anyone to practice with except during practice times.. i have no life so yeah if you want help just ask
