I am needing help making a good, worthwhile tunic. (Unlike the shotty one I have now.) I have the basic idea of how to make in my head, I would just like some tips and stuff on making one.

He said he wanted a good one, not some run of the mill just enough to pass one.

I don't remember if you hemed up the edges on your current one but do that for the next one for certain. Beyond that, the only real recomendation I can give is to add trim to the edges. Also, try looking for instructions from some place other than belegarth sorces as you will have a better chance of finding more difficult but better looking ones probably.

Is there a specific look/period/culture/whatever you are going for?

If not, a basic t-tunic is the fastest/easiest. Google search "Making a T-tunic". If you want something a little bit harder, but potentially better fitting & looking go here.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link. I'm wanting something kind of nice, but not at all fancy.

As we said before.

Ok, I messed up the tunic and got a tabard instead. (Long story told in another post.)
What I'm thinking of doing now is just buying a large or X-Large shirt (something that'll reach to my knees), cutting off the sleeves and adding the ones I made.

If you are going to do that, then think about making some v-cuts a little up the sides from the bottom of it or else sitting will be hard.

Having the slits at your hips makes it so the fabric doesnt stretch with your legs and crap when squatting, sitting, etc.
