Re: Edhellen
the only things on that sale that actually save you money is the 2 shorts and the blade kit. everything else is regular price just free add-ons, and i dont like any of their crap addon's.
Re: Edhellen

Re: Edhellen
oblong handle's(pointless)
crosshilt's(throw off the balance of the sword/pointless cause they arent real blades)
2 color double wraps's(cause im going to cover it in cloth tape anyway)

Re: Edhellen
Yeah, their add-ons are almost always completely useless/unwanted. The only thing I've seen that's even remotely beneficial is ordering 12 arrow kits and having them add in a free roll of hockey tape. It doesn't really help you at all, it just keeps you from having to use your own/purchase some. It's stupid seeing as the arrow kit should come with some kind of adhesive anyways.
Re: Edhellen
The weighted handle option adds alittle bit of counterweight if you like that, but judgeing from Unakis axe that has one, it dosnt make a real big diffrence (slightlt cooler looking though).
Re: Edhellen
In my opinion, a counterweight would only be helpful on an extremely long/heavy weapon. Any red sword above a claymore or perhaps a glaive should be the only things you put one on if ever. This puts some weight at the bottom of your weapon so it's a tad easier to pull back for another swing.
Re: Edhellen
Ironicaly I've heard the opposet. After all the longer the weapon is the heavyer it will be and there for you would have to add more weight to get less counterbalance which would be an ineffective ratio.
Re: Edhellen
True, but I was thinking more along the lines of keeping the weight equal on both ends of the weapon. It does add to the total weight of the weapon, yes, but it lets you keep a bit more balance in your swings. I still think it's better to just not have them at all though, since it usually just makes the weapon feel off.
EDIT: Just from personal experience, I once held a counterweighted short sword that had the handle filled with pennies. It felt like I was holding the sword backwards, if that explains the awkwardness.

Re: Edhellen
Perhaps? It's been forever since I've held or seen the thing, so I honestly have no clue what color the thing was. I don't really wish to hold it again either...ever.
